Job summary

Firematic in Tonawanda, NY, is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to diagnose, repair and maintain fire apparatus and emergency vehicles, including medium and heavy-duty trucks in its fleet.

This full-time position requires a self-starter with knowledge of diesel engines; a valid CDL B with Air Brakes or willingness to obtain within the first year. ASE/EVT certifications are a plus. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00–3:30, with a competitive starting rate and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CDL B with Air Brakes or willing to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience in maintaining autos, trucks and emergency vehicles preferred.
• ASE and/or EVT certifications a plus.

WHO WE ARE:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

Diagnose, repair and maintain fire apparatus and emergency vehicles. Perform skilled work in maintaining automotive, medium and heavy-duty trucks, to include all Fire Division and Rescue (EMS) Division vehicles, including small gas engines and other associated equipment.

Requirements

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Self-starter with positive can-do attitude
• Knowledge of Diesel engines preferred
• Valid class CDL B drivers license with Air Brakes or willingness to obtain within the first year
• Knowledge of up-to-date methods of maintaining autos, trucks and emergency vehicles preferred
• ASE and/or EVT certifications a plus

This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday 7:00-3:30.

Starting rate $22-30/hr depending on experience and certifications
