Job summary

AMR Richmond is seeking a Mechanic to retrieve vehicles for service or repair, ensuring downtime is minimized and units are mechanically sound for crews and patients. The role emphasizes delivering a clean, well-maintained vehicle inside and out.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience, ASE certifications (Truck or Automotive), a valid driver’s license, and is prepared to obtain additional ASE credentials within the first year. Communication with Fleet is essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current valid driver’s license required.
  • ASE certifications preferred and must be obtained within first year of employment.
  • 2 years verifiable mechanic or helper experience.
  • 2 ASE certifications (Truck or Automotive) preferred.
  • MACS/ASE equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieve vehicles due for service or repair and ensure timely maintenance.
  • Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field as needed.
  • Use parts system to locate needed parts and verify correct application.
  • Document completed tasks in maintenance database.

Mechanic (Richmond, VA)
  • $30.00 per hour or more based on experience! annualized starting compensation range.
  • Total annualized compensation depends on qualifications, and experience.

Position Summary: The Mechanic role is responsible for retrieving vehicles due for service or repair, with the goal of reducing down time and increasing the quality and delivery of our services to the crews and our patients. The delivered product is a clean, mechanically sound vehicle inside and out. It is important that the product produced is maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities
  • Mechanic Intermediateperforms mechanical and electrical repairs per policies and procedures.
  • Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field whenrequested.
  • Utilizesparts computer program tolocateneeded parts and verifycorrectapplication.
  • Mechanic Intermediate usesmaintenancedatabaseto document all completed tasks / job assignments.
MinimumRequiredQualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent education.
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license.
  • ACE/MAX ACE
  • * Preferred ASE, HOWEVER, must be obtained within the firsts year of employment.
  • 2 years verifiable Line Mechanic or Mechanic Helper / Associate experience.
  • 2 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive series). Preferably Brake and Steering / Suspension.
  • MACS AC Certification or equivalent ASE Certification.
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
