We are currently accepting applications for a Full-Time Auto Body and/or Mechanic within our Public Works Department.

Required Qualifications

• Safe operation of City-owned vehicles, such as pick-up trucks, dump trucks, salt spreaders, snowplows, etc.
• A valid driver’s license
• Must be available for emergencies such as snowfall and floods (paid a bonus for this availability)
• A willingness to demonstrate a commitment to the City of Biddeford's work around diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the repair and maintenance of gasoline and diesel engines
• Experience in troubleshooting and repairs on cars, pickups, class 8 trucks and construction equipment
• Experience with automobile and heavy-duty truck scan tools preferred
• Current State of Maine inspection license for cars, trucks and school buses
• Candidates with experience in the following areas preferred but we are willing to train:
• Small Engine Repair
• Automotive Electrical Systems
• Hydraulic Systems
• Heavy-Duty Truck Air Brake Systems
• Welding, Cutting and Fabrication
