Apex Petroleum is currently seeking a full-time mechanic for our Largo, MD location. Duties include working on fuel delivery vehicles. Maintains diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, correcting vehicle deficiencies, adjustments, and alignments, and keeping records.

Essential Duties:

1. Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform repairs and maintenance on equipment. Engine diagnostics a plus.
2. Perform safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the DOT, company, and other regulations.
3. Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
4. Repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
5. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and compliance with manufacturer’s specifications and regulations.
6. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
7. Possess strength and stamina to handle heavy equipment and work in awkward positions.
8. Work independently or as part of a team.
9. Keep up with technological updates and changes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Experience with oil trucks is a plus.
2. Must supply own tools.
3. Recognize vehicle maintenance needs; interpret policies, procedures, maps, and route directions.
4. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
5. Overtime may be required.
