Job summary

A recycling services provider in Augusta, Georgia, is looking for a Mechanic with experience in diesel engines and hydraulic systems. The role includes troubleshooting machinery, repairing various systems, and maintaining safety standards. Qualifications

• Must pass a preemployment physical and drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.
• Preferred - high school diploma or GED and/or acceptable foreign education.
• Previous experience with hydraulic repairs.
• HS diploma or GED preferred; foreign education acceptable.
• Bi-lingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively; basic math skills as job demands.
• Diesel Mechanic school DOT maintenance or certification preferred.
• Previous hydraulic repair experience.
• Must have diesel engine experience.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems with machinery.
• Repair engines and hydraulic systems.
• Drive company mechanic truck to various yards.
• Perform limited torch cutting and welding.
• Remove and replace parts of hydraulic systems and tool attachments (shears, forks, grapples).
• Remove and repair some body parts, ladders, platforms, catwalks, and engine covers.
• Perform limited torch cutting and welding.
• Drive company mechanic truck to various yards in a given region.
• Clean up work area at the end of shift.
• Inspect the safety of the equipment.
• Regular attendance and punctuality are essential job functions.
• Organizing materials to have more effective use of space.
• Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
• Inspection to ensure cleanup is completed.
• Effective housekeeping in workplace area is an ongoing operation for safety and better hygienic conditions for all team members.
