Job Description

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Wait on customers and provide customer services. Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, and orderly manner.
2. Check product quality; ensure it is always fresh, safe, and merchandise is properly rotated.
3. Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
4. Maintain carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and keep floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
5. Manage display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness. Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
6. Provide good customer and associate relations.
7. Wash and sanitize equipment following company and Health Department policies.
8. Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
9. Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
10. Promptly and cheerfully serve customers at the counter. Greet and assist them in finding products.
11. Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat department, company policies, and legal regulations.
12. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
13. Adhere to company policies, especially regarding dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and harassment/discrimination policies.
14. Maintain equipment and facilities safely and properly as per policies.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Willing and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and labels.
• Qualified to operate power tools such as wrappers, slicers, grinders, power saws, etc.
• Work safely with chemical cleaning solutions.
• Work well in a team in a fast-paced environment and assist team members.
• Handle stressful situations calmly and tactfully, making positive impressions on colleagues and customers.

Desired

• Experience in meat work or food preparation.
• Dependable and trustworthy work history.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, OSHA, and food handling.
