Job description

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Wait on customers and provide customer services. Demonstrate the company's leadership behaviors and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Minimum requirements:

  • Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
  • Qualified and able to operate power and various job tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, jack, etc.).
  • Must work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all members of the department.
  • Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.

Desired qualifications:

  • Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
  • Dependability and integrity in past work records.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.
  • Prepare and display merchandise neatly and efficiently.
  • Check product quality to ensure freshness and safety, and properly rotate stock.
  • Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and organized.
  • Keep carts, tools, and supplies in designated areas and well organized. Maintain clean, safe floors free from clutter.
  • Manage display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness. Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
  • Provide good customer and associate relations.
  • Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies.
  • Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
  • Promptly and cheerfully wait on customers and assist them in finding products.
  • Follow all current rules and duties related to Meat, Company policies, and State and Federal laws.
  • Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, especially regarding dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and harassment/discrimination policies.
  • Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
