Minimum Requirements:
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Qualified and able to operate power and various job tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, jack, etc.).
- Must work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all members of the department.
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
Desired Qualifications:
- Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Dependability and integrity in past work records.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Prepare and display merchandise neatly and efficiently.
- Check product quality; ensure it is always fresh, safe, and properly rotated.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies.
- Work display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness. Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and health department policies.
- Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
- Promptly and cheerfully serve customers, greet them, and assist in finding products.
- Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat department, company policies, and state and federal laws.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies, especially regarding dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and a harassment/discrimination-free environment.
- Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
