Job Description

Prepare and display meat items for sale in accordance with company standards and policies. Wait on customers and provide customer services. Demonstrate the company’s leadership behaviors and the core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, and orderly manner.
2. Check product quality; ensure it is always fresh, safe, and merchandise is properly rotated.
3. Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well-organized.
4. Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas. Maintain floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
5. Manage display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness. Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
6. Provide excellent customer and associate relations.
7. Wash and sanitize equipment according to company and Health Department policies.
8. Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
9. Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
10. Promptly and cheerfully wait on customers and assist them in finding products.
11. Follow all current rules and duties related to Meat, Company, and State and Federal laws.
12. Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
13. Adhere to company policies, especially in dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and harassment/discrimination policies.
14. Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely.
15. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

1. Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
2. Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
3. Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
4. Qualified to operate power tools and job equipment (wrapper, slicer, grinder, etc.).
5. Work safely with cleaning chemicals.
6. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
7. Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly, leaving a positive impression.

Desired

1. Experience in meat work or food preparation.
2. Dependability and integrity in past work records.
3. Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, OSHA, and food handling.
