Responsibilities
- Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, and orderly manner.
- Check product quality; ensure freshness, safety, and proper merchandise rotation.
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized.
- Maintain carts, tools, and supplies in designated areas; keep floors clean, safe, and clutter-free.
- Manage display cases to maintain proper inventory levels and freshness; unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
- Provide excellent customer and associate relations.
- Wash and sanitize equipment following company and Health Department policies.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Promptly and cheerfully serve customers at the counter; greet and assist in finding products.
- Follow all applicable rules, including those of the Meat Department, Company policies, and State and Federal laws.
- Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly; be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in interactions.
- Adhere to company policies on dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and a harassment/discrimination-free environment.
- Maintain equipment and facilities safely and properly per company policies.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
- Qualified to operate power tools such as slicers, grinders, wrappers, power saws, and jacks.
- Work safely with chemically based cleaning solutions.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and assist team members.
- Handle stressful situations tactfully and calmly, making positive impressions on customers and colleagues.
- Experience in meat work or similar food preparation roles.
- Dependability and integrity reflected in past work records.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment, OSHA, and food handling.
