Job summary

You will mentor staff, manage staffing and training, drive sales while controlling costs, and uphold Meijer standards in presentation and safety during prime shopping hours. Strong communication and multi-tasking skills are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team for clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach staff to ensure customer service and sales goals are met.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning and development for team members.
• Document disciplinary actions and recommend discharge when needed.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink targets.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation during prime hours.
• Ensure staff are trained and meet required training standards.
• Spend majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
