Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a store leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise day-to-day store operations across departments. You will mentor staff, manage staffing and training, and uphold Meijer standards to ensure outstanding customer service and sales performance.

Responsibilities include P&L oversight, staffing decisions, and driving a safe, efficient store environment with a focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members clearly and directly.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict by addressing root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization focused on safety.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across the organization.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within store departments.
• Mentors and coaches team members; implements strategies to improve customer service and drive sales.
• Maintains store appearance, prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development needs; involved in promotion decisions.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions; may discharge when necessary.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and controlling shrink.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Ensures team is trained and completes required training.
• Spends majority of time in-store interacting with customers and teammates.
