Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Specialist in Cedar Rapids to cut, tenderize and merchandize fresh meat while delivering excellent customer service. You will assist customers, prepare cutting lists and ensure proper temperature control in a fast-paced department.

Qualifications

• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions.
• Arithmetic involving fractions, decimals and percentages.
• Ability to file, post and mail materials, and communicate requests to customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service and greet customers in the store.
• Cut, tenderize, grind and merchandise meat products following safety guidelines.
• Prepare cutting lists, conduct cutting tests, and assist with case-fill orders.
• Monitor refrigeration temperatures and maintain department hygiene and cleanliness.
• Work with team to ensure a smooth, safe shopping experience for customers.
