Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Meat Team Leader to oversee day-to-day merchandising, stocking, product flow, planograms and pricing in the Meat and Seafood departments. The role directly supervises Meat team members.

You will build a high-performance team, conduct interviews, manage schedules, ensure accurate signing and pricing, uphold sanitation and safety, and drive achievement of department financial goals while supporting exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Retail or grocery experience in meat/seafood.
• Ability to train staff and manage schedules.
• Strong customer service mindset.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous service to customers and team members.
• Achieve financial goals in Meat and Seafood departments.
• Conduct interviews to staff appropriately.
• Train Meat team members in high-performance practices.
• Write and manage Meat schedules to ensure service levels and control expenses.
• Ensure signing and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain sanitation and safety procedures.
• Control inventory shrinkage and adhere to rotation guidelines.
• Complete MITS tasks in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as needed.
