Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Meat Manager to support the Meat & Seafood Manager in running a high-demand department. You will help with inventory, merchandising, staffing, and ensuring product quality to deliver an exceptional shopping experience.

You will lead a busy team, uphold safety and sanitation standards, and contribute to training new hires while maintaining excellent customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with basic math knowledge and weights/measures.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience and 2-3 years grocery retail experience in Meat department preferred.
• Dependable with the ability to interact with customers.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
• Good communication and team participation skills.
• Perform general housekeeping and follow safety/Weighs & Measures rules.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 25–90 lbs; operate meat/seafood equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in department merchandising for productivity and profit.
• Manage ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of staff.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning and teamwork.
• Lead hiring, teaching, training, and development of Meat & Seafood team.
• Ensure receiving, stocking, and freshness with proper sanitation and safety.
