Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk in Belton, MO to provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood Department. You will wrap, weigh, stock cases, and assist customers with product selection while maintaining cleanliness and safety.

This non-exempt position requires following detailed instructions, basic math, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Must be 18+ and able to pass pre-employment screening and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent experience, food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee’s designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing items out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer orders.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels product and maintains freshness by stocking cases and rotating items.
