Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk in the Meat Department to deliver prompt, friendly customer service and assist with wrapping, trimming, stocking, and merchandising in the Meat and Seafood sections. You will interact with customers, help locate products, and maintain clean, well-organized displays.

The position requires adherence to safety, hygiene, and company guidelines, with duties including trimming, labeling, rotating stock, and assisting with seafood preparations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and food safety training.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels product.
• Stocks cases and rotates product for freshness.
• Replenishes and organizes coolers and displays seafood items as needed.
• Answers telephone promptly and assists customers with orders.
• Maintains cleanliness and proper sanitation in the department.
• Reports out-of-stock products to appropriate personnel.
• Trays, slices, tenderizes, and grinds product as required.
• Adheres to company policies and personal hygiene standards.
