Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide prompt, friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood department. You will wrap, weigh, and label products, restock cases, rotate stock and assist customers with product location and orders.

The role requires basic food safety knowledge and a high school or equivalent background. Physical ability to lift and handle items, work in a cool environment, and maintain cleanliness is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to carry out detailed but simple written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to deal with a few concrete variables and copy figures accurately.
• High School or equivalent and basic food safety awareness required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat/Seafood area.
• Wraps, weighs, and labels products for display and sale.
• Stocks cases, rotates product, and ensures freshness and cleanliness.
• Assists customers by guiding them to products and taking orders over the phone when needed.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards in a cool, fast-paced environment.
