Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide exceptional customer service while working in a fast-paced, friendly environment. The role involves receiving, storing, and grinding meats, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and assisting customers with questions and special orders.

The Meat Clerk will rotate meats, follow the department's procedures, and help customers locate products. A flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays is required to succeed in this busy

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior; positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes with the business including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• General housekeeping and sanitation of the department.
• Ability to stand for up to 4 hours continuously and up to 8 hours per shift.
• Must be able to lift/carry 25–90 lbs. and use basic tools in daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service and product knowledge.
• Practice safe food handling procedures and maintain quality standards.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload shipments from delivery trucks.
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare with invoices.
• Rotate meats to prevent aging and ensure freshness.
• Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs.
• Reference weekly ad items and guide customers to product locations.
• Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.
