Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of math, weights, and measures.
• Dependable with ability to perform other duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with customer interaction.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• General housekeeping: clean and sanitize work areas.
• Adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations.
• Stand for up to 4 hours and total 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles.
• Operate in a temperature-controlled area and use sharp knives and equipment.
• Lift/carry 25–90 lbs.; pallet jack up to 500 lbs.
• Move racks of products up to 70 lbs.; tables up to 70 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service and product knowledge.
• Practice safe food handling procedures.
• Receive, store, grind, unload, transport, and count meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
• Compare weighed results against invoices and ensure accurate records.
• Examine meats in storage and rotate them to avoid aging.
• Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs while maintaining a positive, customer-focused environment.
• Know weekly ad items and guide customers to product locations.
• Follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs and adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.
