Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Newark, DE is seeking a Meat Department team member to join a busy club environment. You will receive, rotate, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, and assist in seafood, rotisserie, prepared foods, and cheeses while helping Members with questions and recommendations.

The role emphasizes maintaining sanitation, stocking cases, following club policies, and acting with honesty and integrity to uphold Gold standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Makes recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, including grinds.
• Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• May grind hamburger meat.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery.
