Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The associate is responsible for the following functions, in addition to other duties as assigned:
- Keeps meat department cases well stocked and appealing to meet customer demand. Greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions about cuts and preparation, takes orders for future delivery, and helps fill special requests. Resolves customer concerns promptly and courteously.
- Sets up displays, rotates products, and ensures meat is fresh, saleable, with proper pricing and signage. Handles spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration products as per company standards. Removes non-saleable products to maintain quality.
- May grind and cut meats and poultry.
- Weighs and wraps merchandise at customer request, applying correct price and weight stickers. Maintains logs to track freshness and quality. Adheres to all safety and food handling codes. Responsible for sanitation, cleaning schedules, and health and OSHA requirements. Disposes of trash properly and empties bone cans.
- Assists in minimizing shrink and controlling damages. Reports shortages or overages to management.
- May assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking-down, and storing deliveries using power or hand jacks if trained. Training provided.
- May assist with baling cardboard or related duties if trained. Training provided.
- Ensures department and store functions smoothly by cooperating with coworkers and superiors. Aims to continuously improve job performance.
- Utilizes all company-provided PPE, including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, footwear, etc.
- May be called upon to assist in other departments.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualification Requirements:
Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodation. Requirements include:
- Completion of or working towards a High School Diploma or GED. No prior experience required.
Rate of Pay and Benefits:
The hourly pay starts at $15.00 and can go up to $22.00.
