Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate will be responsible for the following duties, along with other assigned tasks:

1. Maintain well-stocked and appealing meat department cases to meet customer demand. Greet customers with a smile, offer suggestions, answer questions about cuts and preparation, take orders for future delivery, and assist with special requests. Resolve customer concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Set up displays, rotate products, and ensure meat is fresh, properly priced, and labeled. Handle spoiled, damaged, or near-expiration products according to company standards. Remove unsaleable products to ensure quality.
3. Possibly grind and cut meats and poultry as needed.
4. Weigh, wrap, and label merchandise at customer request, maintaining logs to track freshness and quality. Follow all food safety and personal safety regulations when handling products and using tools. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department, including cleaning schedules and OSHA compliance. Properly dispose of trash and empties bone cans.
5. Assist in minimizing shrinkage and controlling damages by reporting shortages or overages to management.
6. If trained, assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, and storing deliveries using appropriate equipment. Training provided.
7. If trained, assist with baling cardboard and related duties. Training provided.
8. Ensure smooth department and store operations by cooperating with team members and supervisors. Strive for continuous improvement in job performance.
9. Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
10. Assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not currently have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

To perform this role successfully, the associate must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. The requirements include:

• High School Diploma or GED, or working towards it. No prior experience required.
