Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The associate will be responsible for the following duties, among others:
- Maintain well-stocked and appealing meat department cases to meet customer demand. Greet customers warmly, provide suggestions, answer questions about products, take future delivery orders, and assist with special requests. Address customer concerns promptly and courteously.
- Set up displays, rotate products, and ensure meat is fresh, properly priced, and labeled. Manage spoiled, damaged, or near-expiry products according to company standards. Remove unsaleable products to ensure quality.
- May grind and cut meats and poultry as needed.
- Weigh, wrap, and label merchandise accurately at customer request. Maintain logs for freshness and quality. Follow all food safety and personal safety protocols. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases, complying with health and OSHA standards. Properly dispose of trash and handle bones appropriately.
- Assist in minimizing shrinkage and controlling damages by reporting shortages or overages to management.
- Assist with receiving, unloading, checking-in, breaking down, and storing deliveries, using power or hand jacks if trained. Training will be provided.
- Assist with baling cardboard or related tasks if trained. Training will be provided.
- Ensure smooth department and store operations by collaborating with colleagues and supervisors. Strive for continuous improvement in job performance.
- Utilize all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
- Assist in other departments as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position currently does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualification Requirements
Must be able to perform all essential duties satisfactorily, with or without accommodations. Requirements include:
- High School Diploma or GED (completed or in progress). No prior experience necessary.
