Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate will be responsible for the following duties, along with other tasks as assigned:

1. Maintain well-stocked and appealing meat department cases, greet customers, provide suggestions, answer questions about products, take future delivery orders, and assist with special requests. Address customer concerns promptly and courteously.
2. Set up displays, rotate products, ensure freshness, proper pricing, and signage. Manage spoiled or damaged products according to company standards. Remove non-saleable items to maintain quality.
3. Possibly grind and cut meats and poultry as needed.
4. Weigh, wrap, and label merchandise at customer request, maintain logs of freshness and quality, and follow safety codes when handling products and equipment. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and display cases, complying with health and OSHA standards. Properly dispose of trash and maintain department hygiene.
5. Assist in minimizing shrinkage and controlling damages by reporting shortages or overages to management.
6. Help with receiving, unloading, checking deliveries, and storing items, including operating power or hand jacks if trained. Training will be provided.
7. Assist with baling cardboard or related tasks if trained. Training will be provided.
8. Ensure smooth department and store operations by collaborating with colleagues and supervisors. Strive for continuous improvement in job performance.
9. Use all provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and company-sponsored footwear.
10. Assist in other departments as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not currently have supervisory duties.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Successful performance of this role requires the ability to perform essential duties with or without accommodations. The requirements include:
