Job summary

JBS USA in Ottumwa is seeking a Production Supervisor in the Loin Bone 2ND department to lead daily manufacturing activities and meet production goals.

You will supervise 25-50 hourly employees, ensure safety, food safety, policy compliance, and maintain strong working relationships with the Union, USDA, and maintenance teams. The role requires high school or higher and may require weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent or better.
• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field preferred.
• 1-2 years proven supervisory experience in Beef or Pork industry preferred.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Supervisory skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to speak multiple languages beneficial.
• Good attendance and safety records (Less than 3 Points, for internal candidates)

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management.
• Supervise production employees.
• Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees.
• Ensure policy compliance with all production employees.
• Perform various duties as assigned.
• Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost, employee retention and maintain good working relationships with the Union, USDA (meat), and maintenance employees.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, and all human resources and safety policies.
