Job summary

JBS USA in Ottumwa is seeking a General Foreman to lead the Harvest 2nd department. The role oversees the Harvest floor production, directs supervisors, and ensures production schedules, quality targets, and safety standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have extensive production knowledge and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in a processing plant setting. This exempt position offers stability and a strong benefits package including health care and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual helpful, but not required.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in a variety of production jobs.
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in processing plant industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee entire Harvest floor production.
• Direct supervisors with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Train and develop supervisors to provide management depth and teamwork.
• Review daily production schedule to plan work and personnel assignments.
• Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized.
• Maintain good employee relations and adherence to labor contract provisions.
• Other duties as assigned.
