Job summary

Responsibilities include supervising the team, ensuring safety, meeting production goals, preparing pre-operational paperwork, and maintaining relations with the Union, USDA, and maintenance staff. Candidates should have strong communication skills and stamina to stand long hours.

Qualifications

• Two years supervisory experience preferred in a food manufacturing/meat processing setting.
• Ability to work a Monday through Friday including weekends when needed.
• Ability to work a second shift.
• Ability to work in a cold fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise hourly employees.
• Responsible for the motivation and safety of those employees.
• Prepare pre-operational paperwork.
• Ensure area is properly staffed/crewed to meet operational needs.
• Coach and develop employees to obtain results.
• Responsible for meeting volume goals, reducing claims, maximizing yields, reducing cost and employee retention.
• Maintains good working relationships with the Union, USDA and Maintenance employees.
