Job summary

SpartanNash in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Meat Apprentice to support meat production, packaging, labeling and merchandising in a retail setting. This part-time role requires following production plans, rotating stock, and coordinating with the Meat Manager to ensure timely ordering of supplies.

You will work with the team to meet guest experience guidelines, safety protocols, and cleaning standards, while learning meat department operations and related processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred
• One year of retail or related experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Detail Oriented

Responsibilities

• Prepare and Produce Meat Products to Production Planner
• Package and Label Meat Products per program plan
• Merchandise Meat Products per Flight plan/Merchandising Expectations
• Stock Backroom with Meat Products – Rotating and Dating Cases/Buckets
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered
• Work as a team with other departments and Stores to achieve growth in SpartanNash Retail stores
• Understand basic functions of adding, subtracting, multiplying and division
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates
• Follow all PPE and Safety Guidelines
• Follow all Food Safety and Cleaning Expectations
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience need
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
