Job summary

SpartanNash, with Forest Hills Foods in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a part-time Meat Department team member. You will prepare, package, label, and merchandise meat products, stock backrooms, and collaborate with other departments to meet guest needs and store goals.

Responsibilities include following safety and food safety guidelines, basic arithmetic, and effective communication of tasks and recipes to teammates. Prioritizes guest experience and accurate product rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least 1 year of retail experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents; basic math proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce meat products to production planner.
• Package and label meat products per program plan.
• Merchandise meat products per flight plan/merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with meat products; rotate and date cases/buckets.
• Notify the Meat Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Work as a team with other departments and stores to drive growth in SpartanNash Retail stores.
• Understand basic arithmetic operations (add/subtract/multiply/divide).
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to associates.
• Follow PPE, safety, and food safety guidelines.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments as needed.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
