Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of 2 to 15 employees in the meat area.
• Interview and hire applicants, order product and supplies.
• Maintain all paperwork and bookkeeping.
• Perform meat cutting and wrapping duties using various equipment.
• Serve customers, take orders, and manage transactions.

Job description

Supervises and co-ordinates activities of 2 to 15 employees in meat area. Will interview and hire applicants, order product and supplies. Will maintain all paperwork and bookkeeping. Will also do a variety of meat cutting and wrapping duties including using meat saw, slicer, grinder, tenderizer, wrapping and weight equipment, stocking shelves and cases, serving customers by obtaining orders, may receive money and make change and do general cleaning, if needed. May work in refrigerated area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Use hand, arms, and fingers to handle tools or operate power equipment.
• Work in standing position for 8 hours a day.
• Cut and trim meat, poultry and fish to size.
• Use basic math to measure and estimate material quantities.
• Keep work station clean and sanitary.
• Lift and handle bulky materials and products.
