Job summary

Buckhead & Newport Meat and Seafood is seeking an the role of a production associate to assist front line supervision in meeting daily objectives. You will coordinate the short-term flow of the production area, cut meat to spec, label products, and ensure accuracy of yields while maintaining USDA-compliant work areas.

The position requires basic math, English communication, and prior experience with portion cutting meat.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and conversions to determine the amounts and sizes of products needed for orders.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
• Prior experience with portion cutting meat.

Responsibilities

• Direct the short-term flow and organization of the production area.
• Cut to trim and yield specifications as per cut tickets.
• Report discrepancies between tickets and customer purchases to supervisor.
• Label products and equipment per legal and safety regulations.
• Record data for cutting yield tests and inventory levels.
• Maintain product specifications and USDA-compliant work areas.
• Assemble/tear down equipment at shift start/end.
• Maintain knives, scales and related tools.
• Support profitability by achieving yields and meeting deadlines.
• Participate in safety program and follow safe work practices.
