MEAT/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Position Summary:
Create outstanding customer experiences through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and fresh environment that encourages our customers to return. Help achieve sales and profit goals for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Meat Department in the Meat Manager's absence. Support daily Meat operations and promote the Customer 1st strategy by encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety of others.

Based in Illinois, Mariano's merged with The Kroger Company in 2015. Today, we serve Mariano's customers in over 40 stores throughout the Chicago Metro area.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Effective communication skills
  • Basic math knowledge

  • Current food handlers permit upon employment
  • Knife handling skills and speed

  • Provide ordered products in correct portions to minimize shrinkage.
  • Use cutting tools efficiently to manage production.
  • Stay informed on promotions and maintain merchandising standards.
  • Monitor inventory and pricing accuracy.
  • Comply with labeling laws and assist with inventory procedures.
  • Maintain proper temperatures and perform preventive equipment maintenance.
  • Report safety issues, accidents, and illegal activities.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
