Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is hiring for a Meat Department position in Selma, NC. You will handle fresh and processed meats, assist members, and help maintain clean, properly stocked meat and seafood cases.

The role requires experience in meat/deli operations, familiarity with wrapping machines, and being at least 18 years old. The job emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliable attendance in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of wrapping machines preferred.
• Experience in meat/deli department preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood. Makes recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood; assists in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood; may grind hamburger.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery; ensures that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Ensures that the meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases are fully stocked; rotates products per expiration dates; disposes of damaged/expired items.
• Receives and unpacks meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Maintains club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.
