ShopRite in Aberdeen Hills, MD is hiring for a Meat Department Associate to deliver a great customer experience by performing maintenance and cleanup duties in the Meat Department and related areas as directed by the Meat Department Manager. Responsibilities include keeping equipment, premises and fixtures clean and sanitary.

The role requires reading/writing English, basic math, physical stamina, ability to lift up to 90 lbs, and the ability to work in refrigerated environments.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to perform basic math and read numbers accurately.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
• Adhere to health, safety and civil code regulations.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly and 80-90 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work with products and allergens safely.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly manner.
• Ability to work with others and maintain attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, safe work environment in Meat Department.
• Clean and sanitize surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Assemble/disassemble Meat Department equipment as needed.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report low levels.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen storage areas as required.
• Check prices and locate items; promote promotions to customers.
• Stand at station for long shifts and comply with attendance policies.
• Follow COO L regulations and proper use of chemical products.
• Unloading trucks and handling merchandise weighing up to 80-90 lbs.
• Operate equipment with safeguards and report issues.
• Maintain sanitation and participate in QA processes.
• Adhere to ShopRite Service Priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency.
• Dress and groom according to policy; participate in training programs.
