Job summary

ShopRite of Forest & Richmond in Staten Island, NY, is hiring a Meat Clean-up Clerk. You will maintain a clean, safe Meat Department area, clean surfaces, and assist in maintaining equipment hygiene. The role requires standing, lifting up to 90 lbs, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Ideal candidates read, write, and communicate in English, perform basic math, and work well in a team. The position supports customer experience and department operations across shifts.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, speak English and interpret information.
• Able to perform basic math.
• Able to stand/walk for scheduled shifts and lift 35 lbs. (up to 80-90 lbs. occasionally).
• Able to work in varying temperatures and follow health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment to standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Assemble and disassemble Meat Department equipment (band saws, grinders).
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and inform manager when low.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen storage environments as required.
• Check prices and locate items in the store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand at work station for scheduled shift durations.
• Comply with C.O.O.L. regulations for products.
