Weis Markets is seeking a Meat Department Supervisor to lead a busy team and ensure top-quality products for customers. The role involves planning merchandising, training staff, and maintaining inventory and freshness in a fast-paced supermarket setting.

The position requires a minimum of 3 years' management experience in retail or food service, plus meat management experience preferred. Strong customer service, safety, and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree desirable.
• Minimum 3 years' management experience in retail/food service environment.
• Meat management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations; greets customers and resolves concerns promptly with professionalism.
• Takes customer orders and assists with product selection, cutting and preparation.
• Develops and implements localized merchandising plans and displays to drive sales; coordinates cross-merchandising with departments.
• Schedules Meat associates; oversees training, performance reviews, and LMS usage.
• Manages inventory levels and backroom organization; ensures product freshness and correct shelving.
• Checks department deliveries and invoices; supports unloading and stocking following company procedures.
• Controls department expenses and labor costs; ensures recipes and freshness; logs product data.
• Keeps meat department cases stocked and appealing; answers questions, takes future orders, and handles special requests.
• May grind and cut certain meats; weighs and wraps merchandise; adheres to safety and sanitation codes.
• Maintains backroom security and general sanitation; promotes 5S and proper waste disposal.
