Safeway is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensuring top quality and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. The role focuses on production planning, inventory control, merchandising, and staff coaching to optimize yields and profitability.

You will oversee displays, pricing, promotions, and compliance with safety standards while guiding a team to meet company goals and standards.

Qualifications

• Lead and supervise Meat Department staff.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Maintain inventory, ordering, shrink control, and costs.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meat Department operations to meet service, quality, and financial expectations.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities including preparation, packaging, stocking, and merchandising.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature, and regulatory requirements.
• Schedule, train, coach, and oversee associates to ensure coverage and performance expectations.
• Review production results and adjust activities to support yield and profitability goals.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, shrink, reclamation, and departmental expenses.
