Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead the daily Meat Department operations, uphold freshness and food safety, and drive service quality and merchandising excellence across the department.

You will oversee planning, production activities, inventory, and team performance in a fast‑paced retail setting, with emphasis on loss prevention, profitability, and strong guest experience. Flexibility for early mornings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meat Department operations to meet service, quality, and financial expectations
• Maintain a customer‑focused environment and respond to inquiries and special orders
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities including preparation, packaging, stocking, and merchandising
• Ensure displays are stocked, rotated, labeled, and maintained to company standards
• Implement promotional and seasonal programs as scheduled
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature, and regulatory requirements
• Review production results and adjust activities to support yield and profitability goals
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, shrink, reclamation, and departmental expenses
• Maintain clean, safe work areas including preparation rooms, coolers, freezers, display cases, and equipment
• Schedule, train, coach, and oversee associates to ensure coverage and performance expectations
• Complete and maintain required documentation including logs, reports, and audits
