Hy-Vee in Minnesota is seeking an Assistant Meat Department Manager to support the department in delivering the freshest, highest quality products at competitive prices. You will assist the Department Manager and supervise Meat Specialists, Wrap Coordinators, and Clerks while upholding store standards and safety.

The role emphasizes customer-service excellence, training new staff, ensuring product freshness, proper rotation, and adherence to sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent, Computer meat program, Hy-Vee food safety training, Cornell Home Study food safety course (Effective 03/07/96), Dale Carnegie is encouraged.
• Over one year of related work experience preferred.
• Cornell Home Study food safety course and Hy-Vee food safety training completed.

Responsabilités

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
• Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store.
• Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.
• Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, and passing along customer suggestions or requests.
• Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking product orders.
• Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Ensures department standards are met.
• Reviews the status and appearance of product for freshness and pulls by stale date.
• Ensures display case product is rotated and replenished.
• Prepares cutting lists for case fills and offers meal solutions.
• Handles and satisfies customer issues.
• Conducts cutting tests.
• Orders new items (not strictly replenishment).
• Maintains proper temperatures and storage procedures to guarantee freshness and reduce shrink.
• Trains new employees.
• Tenderizes, grinds, and cuts merchandise.
• Maintains sanitation and clean work area per guidelines.
