Job summary

Albertsons Companies is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure top quality and customer service, and drive profitability in a fast-paced grocery environment.

You will oversee production planning, merchandising, safety compliance, scheduling, training, and performance management across the department, while maintaining high standards for freshness and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a retail or grocery setting.
• Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to analyze sales, labor and inventory data to drive results.
• Familiarity with store systems, ordering platforms and department documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meat Department operations to meet service, quality, and financial expectations.
• Maintain a professional, customer‑focused environment and respond to inquiries and special orders.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities including preparation, packaging, stocking, and merchandising.
• Ensure displays are stocked, rotated, labeled, and maintained to company standards.
• Implement promotional and seasonal programs as scheduled.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature, and regulatory requirements.
• Review production results and adjust activities to support yield and profitability goals.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, shrink, reclamation, and departmental expenses.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas including preparation rooms, coolers, freezers, display cases, and equipment.
• Schedule, train, coach, and oversee associates to ensure coverage and performance expectations.
• Complete and maintain required documentation including logs, reports, and audits.
