Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Meat Clerk to provide prompt, friendly customer service in the Meat and Seafood Departments. This role includes wrapping, trimming, stocking cases, and receiving merchandise while upholding sanitation standards and safety guidelines.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, basic food safety training, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Prior retail experience is beneficial, and a commitment to friendly customer interactions is essential.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent experience, food safety training. Six months or less of similar or related work.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in the Meat and Seafood Department.
• Wraps, weighs, labels, and rotates products to ensure freshness and proper display.
• Assists customers by escorting to products, answering questions, and handling requests.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of work area in accordance with company guidelines.
• Stocks cases, receives merchandise, and uses equipment safely (knives, slicers, grinders, tenderizer).
• Reports out-of-stock and communicates customer feedback to management.
