Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Seattle is seeking a Meat Cutter to perform the cutting, preparation, display, and selling of meat products while upholding safety and quality standards. You will provide courteous, friendly service to customers and Team Members and work within SOPs to support store programs.

The role requires 14+ months of retail experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or an equivalent training program.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Successful completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to make sure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports assigned Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
