Job summary

Save-A-Lot in Nashville, TN is seeking a Meat Cutter to support the meat department with cutting, packaging, merchandising and quality control. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and meeting sales goals.

You will follow company standards, work with management to prepare displays and ensure cold chain integrity, while providing excellent customer service and accurate labeling per policy.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age and have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year of meat cutting experience and familiarity with hand tools and power equipment preferred.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are required.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; good oral and written communication encouraged.
• Demonstrates teamwork, reliability and flexibility in a fast-paced store environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the meat department to meet or exceed metric goals.
• Order products, merchandise, and manage shrink control.
• Train and coach others in meat cutting tasks and safety procedures.
• Set work priorities and assign tasks within the meat department.
• Cut and package beef, pork and poultry per policy using knives and power equipment.
• Maintain proper dating, display quality, and shelf presentation for maximum sales.
• Ensure compliance with COOL, USDA and company standards.
• Assist with store policy enforcement and safety compliance.
