Job summary

Kroger Co. in Bend, Oregon is seeking a Meat Department teammate to perform general product preparation, stock work, and customer service, while upholding the company values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

You will cut, package, date, label and price meat items; maintain temperatures and cleanliness; assist customers and fellow associates; and contribute to safe, efficient store operations.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, packaging, labeling, and merchandising meat products.
• Keep department temperature logs accurately updated.
• Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with standards.
• Check product quality and rotate stock.
• Maintain clean and organized sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
• Provide friendly customer and associate relations and respond to inquiries.
