Job summary

Food City is seeking a Meat Department Associate to cut, grind and slice meat, assist with ordering and display, and maintain product rotation in our Abingdon store. You will ensure cleanliness and proper dating on all display meats, while delivering courteous customer service and supporting HACCP compliance.

The role emphasizes on-site shifts with a focus on food safety, sanitation, and teamwork within a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Meat cutting experience a plus, but not required.
• Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions, perform routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts to adhere to company time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Cut and merchandise fresh meat.
• Assist in ordering, receiving and displaying all product.
• Grind meat and slice meat.
• Organize cooler arrangement and stocking of cooler.
• Rotate products and maintain display case cleanliness.
• Ensure proper dating and sanitation of displays.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist in enforcing HACCP program.
