Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in New York is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our team in the meat department. You will receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandize fresh and processed meats, assist in seafood, deli, and rotisserie areas, and ensure sanitation and safety standards are met.

Daily duties include cutting and packaging according to standards, maintaining inventory, and helping Members with questions while delivering friendly, fast service.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood; prepares special cuts as ordered.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company standards; weighs, packages, wraps and labels products.
• Maintains meat case inventory and ensures cases are stocked and properly displayed.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, displays and areas in the meat department; adheres to sanitation standards.
• Works in other departments as needed; maintains attendance and reliability.
