Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated Meat Cutter to join the meat department. You will cut, weigh, wrap, and label fresh and processed meats, assist with rotations, and help maintain sanitation and safety standards for a high-volume club.

Work involves standing in a cooler environment, lifting up to 30 pounds, and delivering friendly service to Members throughout shifts. This role requires prior meat cutting experience and completion of an apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages and assists Members by making recommendations and answering questions on meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members and processes meat to cutting standards.
• Maintains all sanitation and safety standards in the meat department.
• Inspects, stores, and rotates meat, poultry, seafood, and cheeses according to dates.
• Follows packaging standards and ensures display cases are stocked and clean.
