Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club, Southington, CT, is seeking a Meat Cutter to join our Meat Department. You will cut, wrap, and prepare a variety of meats, assist Members with selections, and ensure product quality and sanitation.

Responsibilities include weighing, labeling, and stocking displays; maintaining inventory and following safety standards in a fast-paced retail environment. Previous meat-cutting experience is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages with Members by answering questions on meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and processes fresh meats to company cutting standards; weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Rotates meat cases and ensures inventory levels.
• Maintains sanitation and safety standards within the meat department.
