Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Southington, CT is seeking a Meat Cutter for the fresh meat department. You will receive, cut, grind, wrap, and merchandise meats, while maintaining sanitation and safety standards and assisting in deli and seafood as needed.

We offer weekly pay, benefits, PTO, a 401(k) plan, and an employee stock purchase program. Must be 18+, training or apprenticeship completed, and wrapping machine knowledge is preferred. This is a team-focused role centered on member service.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Engages with members by answering questions about meat, poultry, and seafood and makes recommendations.
• Cuts, grinds, weighs, packages, wraps and labels meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Maintains meat department sanitation and safety standards; ensures proper stocking and inventory.
• Receives and unpacks meat deliveries and assists in general department needs.
